Believabull French Bulldogs Australia

Welcome to Believabull French Bulldogs.

We became involved in the purebred dog world in 1987 showing English Staffordshire Bull Terriers. More recently we decided to downsize to the charming French Bulldog and they have brought much happiness to our lives, needless to say we haven't looked back.

French Bulldogs are a unique and charismatic breed and although they fit into most lifestyles with ease, it is important to be aware that they have special needs. Their endearing flat faced appearance, short screw tail and compact body makes the French bulldog a member of the brachycephalic breed category. Due to their structure they have some special needs which new owners should be aware of. New owners should be prepared to take special precautions during the warmer months, particularly in Australia's extremely hot summer temperatures. Although many breeders are aiming to breed healthier Frenchies with more open airways, due to the nature of their respiratory system they will always struggle somewhat to stay cool during extreme heat. Owners can make their Frenchies more comfortable by providing a shell pool with a small amount of water in the base, this will aid your dog in reducing their body temperature.

French Bulldogs are not renown for being good swimmers and due to their love of water, owners must take care and supervise when their Frenchies are near swimming pools, creeks etc. Please refer to our breed information page for an informative paper on the overall health and medical problems of the French Bulldog, written by Dr Karen Hedberg BVSc. French Bulldogs are a commitment for at least 12 years and we believe that they make the ideal companion for individuals, couples and families. They do crave human companionship and to ensure their overall wellbeing, a Frenchie should not be left alone for long periods of time. We welcome enquiries from lovers of the French Bulldog, whether your goal be to acquire a show quality specimen or a family companion, we would love to hear from you.
